Virtual School Music Concert Flyer 2020
Mon 23 Nov 2020Please click here to watch the Virtual School Music Concert flyer 2020.
Hi everyone
At this difficult and worrying time, I thought it would be a good idea to put together another virtual music concert, this time with a Christmas theme!
I have invited pupils from across the whole school to take part, as before, and it would be great to have some staff contributions again, the more the merrier. So don’t be shy – I know there are a fair few of you with musical talent! Send me your videos, and let’s make this concert as joyful and cheering as possible!
A few guidelines to follow if you decide to take part:
- Whatever you perform, whether singing or playing an instrument, needs to have a Christmas theme!
- Please make sure that you are smartly dressed – even better, wear Christmassy colours!
- If you are singing a song, if possible the lyrics should not be visible on screen. If you do need to hold a printout of lyrics, please make sure your faces are visible and not hidden by the paper, and that you keep the paper nice and still!
- Please choose lyrics appropriate for a formal concert.
- If you are singing, remember that we want to hear YOU, and not the original artist, so make sure that you use a karaoke backing track if you need backing. (Let me know if you need any help with finding a suitable backing track.)
- Keep whatever device you use steady when filming, and make sure you are framed properly in the centre of the image. No zooming in and out necessary!
- One more important tip for filming - it works best to film in Landscape rather than Portrait - so, hold your filming device on its side, horizontally, rather than vertically.
- If you want to team up and sing or play together in larger groups, make sure you are safely distanced and following Covid restrictions. If singing, you need to be 2 metres apart, all facing one way, and using a well ventilated room.
- Performances should be no more than 3 minutes long.
- You have until the 6th December to submit your video!
Important to note: If you send me a video, you are giving consent for it to be posted on the school website, and it may be seen by anyone who has access to this.
If you have problems sending your video to my email address because of the file size, try https://wetransfer.com/which is a free file-sharing service.
Thanks all - I look forward to receiving your videos!
