School Heating
Tue 22 Jan 2019The schools gas supply is currently offline which therefore means that the normal school heating system and hot water system is not working.
The replacement part has been ordered and will be fitted tomorrow so the heating system should be back up and working by the end of tomorrow (23.01.2019).
This means that the school will be heated tomorrow using our electrical supply and electric heaters.
As a result of this the school menu has changed and instead of Roast Dinner will now be Jacket Potatoes, with gammon, cheese and baked beans.
Please make sure that your child has suitable clothing to keep them warm and if you have any individual concerns about your child then please contact the school office.

Parent/Carer Coffee Morning - 18/01/2019
Tue 22 Jan 2019Thank you to all who attended. We enjoyed and appreciate your time. The new website was discussed and a demonstration given on how to navigate around the site and where to find relevant information. A guide on how to download the free app was given out. This is also a news item on the website. There was very positive feedback regarding the ease of use and layout. We welcome any ideas that parents /carers have on additional information to include on the site.
I discussed the process and arrangements for snow and ice. The important issue is that you do not send your child unless you are satisfied that the journey to and from school is safe.
Mrs Reeves spoke about the ‘Connections at the Corner for ASD Children’ run by a parent in Ramsgate. This parent support group is run by a local parent in conjunction with Project Salus, Community Church Ramsgate and a Health lottery grant. It is run every Friday with more information on their face book page ‘Connections at the Corner for ASD children’. To be able to access, this due to their grant, you need to be in receipt of universal credit.
With this in mind Mrs Reeves has started conversations with a local group for parental support to see if we can set up support groups and 1:1 opportunities for parents who are not in receipt of Universal credit(therefore unable to access the group mentioned above) and would value the support of a group/1:1 support/guest speakers etc.
Parents / Carers were asked if this would be something that they may be interested in attending and to let Mrs Reeves know so that she can find out more information. (The Facebook page Laleham Gap Parents are also asking this question for us and will feedback to us as well).
Parents / Carers were asked if they would be happy to complete questionnaires on the school menu’s so that we can encourage more children to try different foods.
The TISS training room provides a great location for the coffee morning. If you can attend please do so all are welcome.
Many thanks
Les Milton

Due to the lack of notice we do not know how this will impact on individuals and it is for parents to decide if they need to prepare their child for a possible change / delay to their normal routine on Monday.
