Reading success is rewarded continuously throughout school.  Rewards include: Accelerated Reader TOPS reports awarded immediately to pupils who achieve 80% or more in book quizzes; weekly celebrations for Reader of the Week, AR Champion for most words read and Bedrock Champion for most progress – prizes include a commendation and dip in the treat pot; Termly AR Champions, Bedrock Champions, Reading+ Champions also receive STAR badges and Book Tokens.  Best Effort for Reading Champion of the Year (Primary and Secondary) awards are rewarded with an engraved cup and book tokens.  The best reward, however, is that provided by pupils’ recognition of their own progress – when they share their LW phonics book to you and can read every word fluently, or the moment they see their STAR Student Progress Monitoring Report and find out they’ve hit their target.
