Books & Libraries

Our digital library, myON, has been invaluable in helping our pupils to access books across the school.  Nevertheless, many still enjoy print books and we have been busy developing our library spaces, investing in lots of new stock, supported by generous donations from publishers such as Harper Collins and Friends of LGS, as well as parents.  Our next step is to enhance our library presence in the school and to embed our Library digital system, Libresoft, so that we can be sure our library stock remains relevant and accessible.

Crucially, Reading+ is not just about reading books.  The plus symbol represents the rich variety of ways to enjoy language.  With every classroom having access to the internet through laptops and iPads, pupils are able to listen to podcasts and audio texts, read the news, research topics of interest to them, play word games, either together or in groups; and of course boardgames such as Scrabble and Upwords continue to bring pleasure to many, adults and children alike.  Pupils are also encouraged to bring in their favourite magazines or comics, manga, or puzzle books from home.
