MyON
We have been using AR for several years and with its focus on quizzing and rewards it has enormous appeal for
some students. While AR clearly benefits those children who are already motivated to read, it appears harder to reach those who are already disengaged from reading. Reading rewards and quizzes are not enough! With this in mind, we decided last year to invest in myON, a digital library of over 5000 texts. With fantastic accessibility (children can share reading the same book, they can listen to books while they read along, they can manipulate the text, and get help to choose books within their reading levels), this mode of reading became popular quite rapidly, especially with those children and young people who prefer screen to print. Compatible with most digital devices, myON resources can be accessed from home by our children and young people and shared with families.
