Headteacher Letter

23 June 2026

Dear Parents and Carers

I hope that this letter finds you, your friends and family in good health and coping with the heat.

The forecast for the remainder of this week in Ramsgate is hot. Please ensure you support your child to remain as comfortable as possible in school.

  • We ask parents to ensure children bring their water bottles to school.
  • We encourage parents to apply sunscreen before children come to school.
  • We ask parents to encourage their child to come to school with a sun hat

We ask that you speak with your child regarding wearing appropriate clothing e.g. removing jumpers. Please encourage your child to use the shady areas during playtime and lunchtimes. There are

air-conditioned rooms are available for pupils at break and lunch, please encourage your child to use them if they feel hot.

We will adjust some activities such as fishing and challenger troop and strenuous outdoor activity will be limited.

Children may wear PE kits (shorts not jogging bottoms) for the remainder of this week if they prefer.

If your child has a health condition or you know heat is likely to significantly dysregulate your child, please contact your class teacher or form tutor so we can discuss the appropriateness of your child being in school and any additional actions we can take to support you.

Kind regards

Les Milton
