Louise is a PhD student based in the Kent Child Development Unit at the University of Kent, supervised by Dr Kirsten Abbot-Smith. Louise's research looks at social communication in children with and without a diagnosis of autism.

Her current study aims to better understand how children co-operate with others and learn to communicate clearly. Louise has taught children with autism for over ten years. she is therefore, particularly interested in why difficulties in these areas may occur in autism and the strategies that could help.
