Term 1 Newsletter

Dear Parents/ carers,

We would love to take this opportunity to formally welcome you all to a new school year in Emerald Class! We are really looking forward to working with and getting to know your children.

Our topic for Term 1 is Scream Machine. This term, we will be getting to know the children, learning about their likes and dislikes, and supporting them with their EHCP targets through carefully planned, engaging activities.

This term our topic is all about roller coasters! We will write poems to capture the excitement of riding a roller coaster and investigate the wonders of centripetal force. After carrying out fair tests to investigate the materials used to make roller coasters, we will create prototype rides of our own. Let’s hope we choose the right materials!

Important Dates

• Friday 16th October - Wellbeing Day and End of Term 1

Reminders

We will have P.E on a Wednesday and Thursday, so if the children could wear their P.E kits for this day, that would be great.

Emeralds class will be having Forest School on Fridays in Term 1. Please ensure that they have appropriate clothing for these sessions, and a change of clothes for when we return to school.

Just a little reminder to name all the children’s clothing and belongings. This helps us to reunite it quickly and reduces anxiety when items are misplaced. The children are welcome to bring in a small healthy snack for break, for example a piece of fruit/vegetable or crackers.

Please do not hesitate to use the Class Dojo app to communicate with us. We also use this app during the school day to reward the children for positive contributions which can be shared with you also.
