Term 1 Newsletter

Dear Parents/Carers,

We would love to take this opportunity to formally welcome you all to a new school year in Topaz Class! We are really looking forward to working with and getting to know your children. Our topic for Term 1 is Predators, so we will be learning about what animals need to survive. This will include looking at habitats and food chains.

A lot of our English learning will be linked to this, alongside phonics, spelling and reading.

In Maths we will start the year by recapping and then extending our knowledge of number and place value. This term, we will be getting to know the children, learning about their likes and dislikes, and supporting them with their EHCP targets through carefully planned, engaging activities. We will also be learning about the continent of Europe.

Reminders

PE will be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays this term.

Just a little reminder to name all the children's clothing and belongings. This helps us to reunite it quickly and reduces anxiety when items are misplaced.

The children are welcome to bring in a small healthy snack for break, for example, a piece of fruit/vegetable or crackers.

Please do not hesitate to use the Class Dojo app to communicate with us. We also use this app during the school day to reward the children for positive contributions which can be shared with you also.
