Wellbeing
Mrs Shuter is our Wellbeing Caseworker. She works individually with pupils to support them with any aspect of their emotional wellbeing. This can include coping with friendship difficulties, exam worries and finding effective coping strategies to help them manage anxiety. Pupils are able to use techniques such as The Problem Solving Cycle to help them tackle their worries and they are taught to see things from a different perspective to help them move on if they get stuck.
If a pupil feels their emotional wellbeing is being addressed they find it easier to learn and progress.
Sometimes pupils refer themselves for help and sometimes school staff, parents or carers ask for this support on behalf of pupils.
Mrs Shuter can work with parents, carers and staff to help them find effective solutions to the difficulties pupils are experiencing.
